Where is the station located? Melilla, Spanish city in Africa. Is the station currently operating, or planned? If planned, when is the projected date it will become operational? It is currently operating, since Dec 2011. What agencies are responsible for installing, managing, operating, and maintaining the station? Instituto Geografico Nacional of Spain (IGN-E). What is the expected operational lifetime of the station? How secure is the funding? IGN-E operates a wide GNSS network with stations operating since 1998 and none station of IGNE integrated in EUREF/IGS have been decommisioned, so the expected operational lifetime of the station is more than 10 years. The monument with the brass plate of the station is built of concrete and the funding of the building is also made of concrete. Will the station replace an existing IGS station? No Does/will the station meet all of the strictly required IGS site guidelines (http://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/network/guidelines/guidelines.html)? Yes, similar to the other EPN stations of IGN-E. What is the data delivery schedule? Hourly data are available in our FTP server with observations at 1, 5, 15 and 30 seconds (ftp://ftp.geodesia.ign.es/ERGNSS/). Also MELI is providing Real-Time GNSS data to the IGNE NTRIP caster (http://igs.bkg.bund.de/ntrip/maps#) Can you set the receiver for "all in view" tracking (including tracking of satellites set unhealthy)? Yes Are there currently operating IGS stations within 1000km? Yes Approximately how many? Seven (EBRE, YEBE, VILL, MADR, MAD2, SFER and RABT), Does this site offer any capabilities the others do not? MELI is tracking GPS+GLONASS+GALILEO signals and the other mentioned stations only GPS observables. What IGS product or project will this site benefit, based on its location, instrumentation, and latency? There is only one IGS station located in the north of Africa (RABT), so the location of MELI could be very interesting for IGS products. Also GLONASS+GALILEO observations and Real-Time products are adittional values to be considered. Is this station intended to tie a national datum to the ITRF? No, because our national datum are defined by the other 20 EPN stations in Spain. Is there a web page associated with this site (please specify)? If not, please include a site photo or two with this application. I enclose you some pictures of the station. Is data available on a public server (please specify)? Yes. IGN-E has a FTP public server of RINEX files with hourly data ( ftp://ftp.geodesia.ign.es/ERGNSS/ ) as well as a caster providing RTK data from all the Spanish IGN network ( http://ergnss-ip.ign.es ) For these reasons, consider to include MELI in IGS network. If you need some adittional data or information, do not hesitate to contact me.
