Russia building up its GLONASS global navigation system
28.01.2004, 14.41

MOSCOW, January 28 (Itar-Tass) - Russia is to launch three Uragan sputniks
this year, chiefly to complete the job of building up its own GLONASS global
navigation system. Given the success of those launches, scheduled for the end
of 2004, Russia will get by 2005 its own "fully- fledged GLONASS group of
16-18 sputniks", Itar-Tass was told at Rosaviakosmos.
