Dear Colleagues,
We have upgraded the antenna cable at the Arequipa, Peru (AREQ) IGS
station. Tracking has improved and new data is again available starting
December 5th (2007.339). The existing antenna was not changed but it is
now powered through a GPS signal splitter. Details of the antenna cable
have been added to an updated IGS log.
Data from December 4th (2007.338) is available on request, but has not
been published as the antenna cable swap and related work was performed
that day.
We apologize for the inconvenience the outage may have caused.
Maintenance and operations of the AREQ station is a collaborative effort
supported by JPL, UNAVCO, and The Arequipa Tracking Station, with
funding provided by NASA's Earth Surface and Interior Focus Area -
Science Mission Directorate.
Best regards,
-Oivind Ruud
