Near real time monitoring of GPS data quality in a high rate
GPS ground tracking network sets new requirements for data
formats. In GFZ in context of the CHAMP mission preparation
a compact binary exchange format for GPS data has been suggested
and accepted as level-1 product format. This new binary format
preserves all advantages of the widely accepted RINEX one,
but allows to avoid his limited precision of observables. The new
suggested binary exchange format is receiver independent, compact
and can be easy extended to future observation types.
